They are finally in!! The very first of my bags for the plus sized community. It’s taken about 5 months to get the prototype exactly right to fit both the bigger boobies and ample assets of we plus sized girls. I’m a 100% Pear and we have our own issues so I wanted to make sure these bags would be comfortable both Apples and Pears.

Bags measure 14 X 8 X 3 and are fully lined for extra strength. The straps are 1/2 wide for comfort and are 48″ long to accommodate our curves. This is a sturdy bag and is perfect to slip in a spare thong for those “over night” encounters. The strap is long enough to fit comfortably either from shoulder across to hip or worn as a shoulder bag. We’ve picked out some hip and trendy fabrics to make sure you are setting the trend instead of following it.

Description of event: The Pastimes Café is a popular night spot here in Frederick, MD. It caters to a slightly older crowd (30s to 50s). A DJ will be playing our favorite oldies as well as today’s hottest dance hits.

Fashion Avenue has a new star!

Chanel Clark and the Miss NYC Plus organization had the first Plus Size Fashion show on 7th Ave. The organization was created based on the need to have an avenue where to showcase plus size fashion and models in NYC, something which had so far been extremely difficult to do.

Founded by Chanel Clark, Miss NYC Plus produced its first pageant in March of this year. During this event, women wearing size 12 to 26 where given the chance to gather at an event focused exclusively on plus size fashion and celebrating curves. The pageant proved to be very successful, receiving an overwhelming amount of response. During this event, one particular model was named winner of the 2008 Miss NYC Plus Pageant. The winner for 2008 was Nic Moore, pictured above.

The next event the organization has planned is a march down Fashion Avenue during New York Fashion Week in September as “a peaceful rally so that people can see how beautiful these ladies [size 12 and larger] are,” Clark said. “We really want to make a statement.”

I wanted to pass along information I received from Marilyn Wann about a bill pending in Massachusetts. H. 1844 is proposed legislation to make it illegal to discrimination on the basis of weight and height.

If you live in Massachusetts, call your state representative at 617-722-2000. Ask to be directed to your representative based on your zip code. Urge your representative to support this historic legislation.

You can also attend the hearing in Boston on Tuesday, March 25 at 2:00 p.m. It will be at the State House in Room A-2.

If you don’t live in Massachusetts, forward this info to anyone you know who does.

Currently, only Michigan, Washington DC, Madison (WI), Santa Cruz (CA), and San Francisco have laws on the books protecting people against size discrimination. You have the chance to make a difference!
